  • Buffalo National River

One of the few remaining rivers in the lower 48 states without dams, the Buffalo National River was the country's first national river. Enjoy floating this slow-rolling and peaceful river for a great day of fun under the sun in the beautiful landscapes of Arkansas.

  • Eureka Springs

Eureka Springs, population 2,000, is an Ozark Mountains resort town with a European feel. The city became a premiere relaxation resort in the late 19th century when people visited the area seeking restorative water from the "Great Healing Spring." Most of the original Victorian architecture from this time is preserved and the entire downtown commercial district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A large musical, artistic and writing community adds an eclectic feel to the city.

Fort Smith is a river city of 82,000 with a historical heart. Established in the 1800s, Fort Smith served as a U.S. Army frontier fort playing key roles in westward expansion, Wild West justice, the Civil War and The Trail of Tears. This historic past takes front stage at museums, festivals and events in Fort Smith. Fort Smith is an excellent starting point for Ozarks and Arkansas River Valley trips. A 70-mile journey through the Ozarks on the Arkansas and Missouri Railway's authentic 19th century passenger railway car provides outstanding views especially in fall. Scenic drives, white-water rafting, canoeing, fishing, camping and hiking are available a short drive from the city.

  • Ozark Mountains

The Ozark Plateau, commonly known as the Ozark Mountains, is an area of rolling hills accentuated by rugged slopes and divided by deep valleys, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. This forested region stretches from northern Arkansas into central Missouri and eastern Kansas and Oklahoma. The highest peaks of the region, the Boston Mountains are located in the northwestern part of Arkansas. The Ozarks are beautiful year round and offer unlimited outdoor adventure activities and scenic views. Residents of the Ozarks are known for their hospitality, traditional crafts and music.
