Description

In addition to the world's largest man-made recirculating river, the U.S. National Whitewater Center features one of the largest man-made climbing facilities in the world. Overlooking the entire park and nestled alongside the whitewater rapids sits the climbing walls. These walls cover roughly 5,700 square feet of climbing surfaces and over 40 roped climbs that can serve as a place for beginners to learn or a challenge to even the most advanced climber. The open air 46 foot, free-form spire offers one of the more difficult artificial climbing options found within the Southeast.

Climbing passes can be purchased for $13/day, $60/month, $400/year, or a 10 day pack good anytime within a year for $100. Belay services consist of three climbs belayed by staff for individuals with daily pass and belay certification and cost $7 per three climbs.

Belay classes, climbing instruction, and climbing gear rentals are also offered by USNWC.
