Description

Fort Dobbs was North Carolina's first provincial fort, and in the mid-18th century, situated in a part of the Piedmont region that was shaped by the events of the French & Indian War. See the historic site where this fort once stood and visit the log cabin built on behalf of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the 1930's, which now houses permanent exhibit space for related memorabilia and artifacts. Enjoy a walk along the short self-guided nature trail for an introduction to local fauna and try to catch one of the daily programs led by historic interpreters for a better understanding of Fort Dobb's history.
