Opened in 1993 to house historic documents and artifacts from Raleigh's 200 year plus reign as North Carolina's capital, the Raleigh City Museum is the place to go for an introduction to city history. Permanent exhibits include a glimpse of Raleigh's Civil Rights movement and a city timeline, while changing displays often consider more contemporary topics like education and the media.
