Skyscrapers define the skyline of North Carolina city Charlote, the "Wall Street of the South", an urban center home also to an assortment of museums, a NASCAR speedway and an artificial whitewater river.
Morehead Planetarium is the place to see stars, whether it's a show on Carolina's night skies or a feature on the Earth, Moon and Sun. In addition to monthly skywatching sessions, the associated Science Center in conjunction with the planetarium also offers evening kayak-based stargazing trips, public lectures and the opportunity to "meet a scientist". Explore the early history of the region through archaeolgoical artifacts in the facility's interactive exhibit, "The Ancient Carolinas", and get hands-on with all sorts of science-related activities in "Zoom In", a two-part exhibit that looks at the big and small sides of our universe.
