Concord Travel Information

Only a quick half-hour drive north of Charlotte, Concord is home to some of North Carolina’s most popular tourist attractions. Concord is home to the legendary Lowe’s Motor Speedway and Concord Mills.

Lowe’s Motor Speedway is a 167,000 seat facility with a 1.5 mile track that is host to numerous events and activities including three of the country’s largest car shows, driving schools and of course NASCAR racing events. The first official race over 50 years ago was held at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Concord and the surrounding area is also home to the greatest concentration of NASCAR teams in the nation. NASCAR fans need to look no further than Concord, North Carolina.

Concord Mills is North Carolina’s #1 visitor attraction as well as the Carolina’s #1 shopping entertainment destination. Concord Mills features over 200 of the best names in retail including Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Nike Factory Store, Osh Kosh B’Gosh Outlet, and more. Concord Mills also features the popular NASCAR SpeedPark offering full-throttle fun for everyone. The park includes a wide variety of NASCAR themed activities including 5 tracks, mini golf, bumper boats, arcade, lazer tag, and much more.

Concord is not only for NASCAR fans. Concord also offers other great places to see such as Historic Downtown Concord, the Reed Gold Mine (the site of the nation's first gold discovery), and several other museums and historical attractions.

Concord is located approximately 30 miles northeast of Charlotte and approximately 70 miles southwest of Greensboro and is accessible by Interstates 85 and 77. Interstate 40 runs just a half hour to the north of Concord.
