Rambling off the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Medley Scenic Byway offers its guests the beauty of the mountains and the promise of a pleasant drive. Many of North Carolina's most prominent peaks are located along this byway. Travelers will enjoy the opportunity to enjoy the rolling landscape as well as the local musical heritage. Stories of the earliest settlers in the area are echoed in the presence of those named for them. Sprinkled with a few small communities, the majority of the byway passes through area in the Pisgah National Forest.
